CFF-Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

In an effort to assure that all meritorious CF-related research is supported, CFF has developed the CFF/NIH-unfunded Award mechanism to provide funding. The objective of this award is to support excellent CF-related research projects that have been submitted to and approved by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), but cannot be supported by available NIH funds.
Applications must fall within the upper 40th percentile with a priority score of 200 or better. CFF support ranges from $75,000 to $125,000 per year for up to two years. (Indirect costs are not allowed.)

$300,000 over 3 yrs.
Faculty with PI eligibility
Purpose: invite grant proposals for these "first in man" studies involving a few patients with devastating brain disease for which there currently is no effective treatment. Funded researchers set up "controlled clinical studies" in a small number of patients with a specific brain disease, based on promising animal studies suggesting that a specific therapy either treated the condition or prevented it from getting worse.
Preliminary proposal deadline: Requests will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Those investigators chosen to submit full proposals will be notified and provided with further instructions.
